Arrival in the Seychelles Islands

Last night we arrived in the Seychelles. Unfortunately we did not arrive mid-afternoon and my snorkeling trip was canceled. But most of us on the ship made the best of it. I’ve included some photos of the sunset over the Seychelles last night and some of the sunrise this morning.

This morning I took a walk and took a few photos of the flora and fauna of the Seychelles including this photo of one of the local birds. Later this morning we will leave this island and go to another. We have to skip the third island because we are behind schedule. Many on board are disappointed as the Seychelles was to be one of the highlights of this trip.

One thing I know about cruising is that “things happen”. Sometimes ports are missed due to weather, sometimes because of work events, sometimes because of mechanical problems with the vessel. One of the secrets of cruising is to “go with the flow” even when you are disappointed with the situation. If you could see the view I’m seeing right now from the top deck observation lounge, you’d understand how I’ve been able to go with the flow.

  1. Hi Carl!
Wow!! What beautiful photos! Sorry to hear about the cancellation of your snorkeling trip. Loved the photos and description of all the celebration as you crossed the equator. What a magnificant trip so far!

    Continue to enjoy your travels!
